The Process

The journey in producing Jachmann Apple Cider involves many steps and stages, but begins with the apples.

For the first half of the year, the different varieties of apples are picked from the Loxton North orchard.

The first crush happens in June/July, and the premium apple juice is sent to commence the fermentation process.

A bench tasting is then conducted by the family, ensuring optimum sweetness and flavour is achieved.

The product is then bottled, carbonated, labelled and packed, before being distributed to be enjoyed by customers both locally and interstate.

Our Achievements

As a reflection of the family’s hard work and dedication, Jachmann Apple Cider has consistently been recognised with awards at a national level.

The peak came in 2016, when the business was awarded a gold medal for their Pink Lady apple cider at the prestigious Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards.

Another gold medal quickly followed at the Australian Cider Awards, where their Pink Lady apple cider was awarded ‘best of class’ and the only gold medal in class. The cider scored an outstanding 93 points with the judges, the equal highest score of the show.

In October 2015, all four Jachmann ciders received bronze medals at the Australian Cider Awards, with the Lady William apple cider (500ml) winning the ‘top in class’ Australian dry cider.

In addition, the Royal Gala and Pink Lady ciders have both received silver and bronze in the New World Medium Sweet category at the Australian Cider Awards.
